One Question

Covent Garden is full of people dressed up as statues- metallic face paint etc - fair enough, you have to earn a living. The most impressive thing about them is their ability to stay still, they don't move, blink, sneeze etc. So why do tourists take photos of them - anything you take a photo is still/doesn't move/blink? So how is it an impressive photo?
