Time's up said Frank

Another day, another few goodbyes, another last night out...Good food, good company and good times. Saying goodbye is fine y'know, because it's a fallacy. I know that tomorrow morning I'll potter round the kitchen making tea and washing up whilst chatting to Nat, who'll munch on her toast. Anna and Matt and Ego will arrive in a wave, requiring mug-searching and mug- cleaning, well, a cursory rinse. Everyone's joking, hiding behing corners on campus and will reappear when the sun comes out and the Magners appears on the bench and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs begin blaring out. Or maybe it's just the core left now. Us girls. Alex, Sarah, Jen and me, left to wander an increasingly deserted campus. But it still feels fine, because new things are happening. I'm off to the beloved, the overstated, over-represented Valencia, and then on to Cambridge to rejoin an altogether different group. It's hard to believe we're saying goodbye. I don't think it's happening. I miss you now, but the real missing happens later; when an in-joke accidently slips out and has to be explained, when I get bored of having to talk about you people beginning with 'my friend...', almost wetting myself with laughter about something which no-one else thinks is funny (oh shit...that happens here too), missing just spending days drinking tea and aquiring different combinations of people throughout the day. You get the picture, and I know exactly what you're thinking....OI!
